Ookla® Verifies Bahrain Network (BNET) for Accelerating Broadband Growth in the Kingdom

Manama, Bahrain: Bahrain Network (BNET), the national telecommunications infrastructure company, announced that it has been certified a marketing claim from Ookla® for Accelerating Broadband Growth in the Kingdom through improved fiber speeds. The award ceremony took place during Gulf Information Technology Exhibition “GITEX” 2022. Ookla®, the global leader in broadband, mobile network testing and data analysis applications, certified BNET after it segmented fiber technology type in Bahrain to identify the median upload and download speed increase seen across users of fiber in Bahrain comparing Q2 2022 to the same period in 2020.

Marketing claims are presented to the world's leading telecom service providers after evaluating their performance and measures the download and upload speeds which is collected from user-initiated tests completed on Speedtest® by Ookla®. Network speed tests are performed exclusively from modern devices capable of connecting to the most advanced communication technologies available in the market. BNET upload speeds have reported an average increase of over 206% since 2020, along with a 157% increase in download speeds since 2020, during speed tests*.
